Like many artist/creators, I often look back at my old work and scoff at my choices and my skill level. I tend to scoff 'less' at are stories with animals and kids (haha). I did a lot more gag/humourous stories earlier on, and now I have some more serious stories folded into the mix. You get older, you get more jaded?

Lava and Hideout. Lava was drafted digitally, then inked with brush pen. Hideout was drafted digitally, then "inked" with pencil. The rough effect of pencil is interesting post-scanning, and hopefully something I can try again in the future.

Deadline and Tied. Both of these were drafted digitally. Deadline was inked with a fineliner (or nib? I forget). Tied was inked with a brush, then a watercolour wash was applied on top. I much prefer doing washes instead of toning digitally.

Tie the Knot and It's Getting Hot in Here. Both of these were drafted and inked digitally, in FireAlpaca! My favourite note here is "Where's Ogata" and then I included Ogata on the magazine in the background.

Reframe and Here We Are/HWA. Reframe was drafted and inked in FireAlpaca. HWA started in FireAlpaca, but I transferred the pages over to Clip Studio Paint after a while, since I wanted some more sophisticated/comic-specific functions. The inking experience in either program is very similiar (since I just use the pen tool and go at it).

I'm finding solace in being an unknown cave dwelling obselete artist! I'm having fun screaming into the void, especially since the internet is so mean to artists these days.

Today's music post: Circus by Ma-te Lin. This video is both cute and sad because of animals!!!!!!!!!

I stayed up late and made Jake picrew. Relatively speaking, he is way easier to make than others because he is 10% closer to pretty boy type than the others (facial hair, body size, skin tone)...

Today's music post: Dog by Lucifour M, directed by Emanuele Kabu!

Focused most of my drawing efforts towards comic and freelance, but here's a post of "higher" effort doodles from the first half of this year!

My GW2 Revenant

Image description

Gave up because drawing detailed armour is painful.

Image description

Originally this was going to be a LLH logger sport team @ the beach picture

Image description

Then it turned into a weird beefcakey solo shot...sorry Austin. The sketch it definitely better.

Next is Merritt and Belmont from the webcomic Demon of the Underground, which I highly recommend! Really interesting world building and character development, especially if you engage with all the extra stories as part of Bob Appavu's patreon. I binge read 400+ pages of the side novel in a few hours...this drawing is inspired by parts of the side novel:

Been mostly drawing Jake and Austin in Here We Are right now, and have grown to really like the rest of the cast, even if their air time is really minimal (for now)!

Image description

Such bad watercolouring skills. I need to switch up my palette.

Image description

I don't draw female OCs as much as I'd like to, so here's Ming Ming in action.

Image description

She only cares about the doctor (not Li Fung).

There's a pokemon fusion generator going around...

Image description

Speaking of strange fusions, I pre-ordered the $$colour$$ Tamagotchi On. A long time ago I said that I'd buy a new console if a new Tamagotchi Corner Shop appeared on the market. I guess the new console is the GIANT SELF-CONTAINED EGG itself. I like the Fairy blue egg more but I wanted the Magic characters more than the Fairy characters (sob). I'm excited to have weird fusion tamagotchi friends, I hope for many fat-lip friends in my future.

Today's music post: offonoff - 춤 been listening to a lot of chilled out indie korean R&B lately.
