Today's music post: As You Like from the Yakuza 0 OST. It's the song that plays when you're dressing up cabaret girls. It's so good! I also finished playing the main storyline of Yakuza 0 and I must say, this game is a great mix of drama and comedy. Going to move on to Yakuza Kiwami now...
It's October and my colleague asked me what I was going to be for Halloween. I told them that I'm not going to be anything, which is fairly typical from me because I usually don't have time for these things (and can't temper the desire to go DEEP/ALL IN with costumes).
This got me thinking about Here We Are characters and what costumes they'd wear. Here's Sabina as a witch/mage, and Jake as a vampire. I also had a sketch of Austin as a werewolf but didn't get that far. Was also laughing at the thought of Austin as a werewolf but maybe he just looks like a puppy dog (and the rest of the team makes fun of him for failing to look aggressive).
I dubbed this as HWAlloween because bad word mashing is my favourite.

Today's music post: Orbit by NAO. Her vocal crispness and range is incredible...I prefer the version that was done on COLOR because the low part isn't autotuned. It feels like a pity to add that filter to her voice!

Today's music post: Ever Again by Robyn.
Like many artist/creators, I often look back at my old work and scoff at my choices and my skill level. I tend to scoff 'less' at are stories with animals and kids (haha). I did a lot more gag/humourous stories earlier on, and now I have some more serious stories folded into the mix. You get older, you get more jaded?
Lava and Hideout. Lava was drafted digitally, then inked with brush pen. Hideout was drafted digitally, then "inked" with pencil. The rough effect of pencil is interesting post-scanning, and hopefully something I can try again in the future.
Deadline and Tied. Both of these were drafted digitally. Deadline was inked with a fineliner (or nib? I forget). Tied was inked with a brush, then a watercolour wash was applied on top. I much prefer doing washes instead of toning digitally.
Tie the Knot and It's Getting Hot in Here. Both of these were drafted and inked digitally, in FireAlpaca! My favourite note here is "Where's Ogata" and then I included Ogata on the magazine in the background.
Reframe and Here We Are/HWA. Reframe was drafted and inked in FireAlpaca. HWA started in FireAlpaca, but I transferred the pages over to Clip Studio Paint after a while, since I wanted some more sophisticated/comic-specific functions. The inking experience in either program is very similiar (since I just use the pen tool and go at it).
I'm finding solace in being an unknown cave dwelling obselete artist! I'm having fun screaming into the void, especially since the internet is so mean to artists these days.
Today's music post: Circus by Ma-te Lin. This video is both cute and sad because of animals!!!!!!!!!
